US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Fred Meyer Bakery Angel Food Cake Bar Recall [US]Clackamas Bakery, a Clackamas, Oregon establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Fred Meyer Bakery Angel Food Cake Bar due to undeclared Milk and Soy, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Fred Meyer Angel Food Cake products are subject to this recall:

  • Fred Meyer Bakery branded Angel Food Cake Bars, sold in 12ounce clear plastic clamshell containers with a batch/lot designation of FK 285 F and a UPC of 0001111002100

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image/images of the recalled Cakes can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FDA, all Fred Meyer stores located in AK, ID, OR and WA are included in this recall notification. Fred Meyer stores have removed this item from store shelves and initiated its customer recall notification system that alerts known customers who may have purchased recalled Class 1 products through register receipt tape messages and phone calls.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Fred Meyer Angel Food Cake products and could be allergic to their Milk and/or Soy ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
