US FlagUS/Washington: Jerky BoyZ Chicken Recall [US]Jerky BoyZ Chicken Jerky, a Pigeon Forge, Tennessee establishment, recalls an estimated 23 pounds of Ready-To-Eat Chicken Jerky products due to a processing deviation that may have led to underprocessing of products and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection and/or Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Ready-To-Eat Chicken Jerky products were produced between September 6, 2018 to September 26, 2018 and are subject to this recall:

  • Jerky BoyZ Chicken Jerky, Buffalo Wing style, sold in 2.5-ounce clear plastic packages with a batch/lot code 81101 and a production date ranging from September 6, 2018 to September 26, 2018
  • Jerky BoyZ Chicken Jerky, Kickin’ Pepper style, sold in 2.5-ounce clear plastic packages with a batch/lot code 81101 and a production date ranging from September 6, 2018 to September 26, 2018

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Chicken Jerky product can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the Chicken products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-46388” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Tennessee but may have been made available eleswhere

The problem was discovered on Oct. 10, 2018 by the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) inspection program personnel during a records review verification.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Chicken products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
