Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Coles Supermarkets Big Yum Beef Pie Recall [Australia]Coles Supermarkets trading as Eureka Operations Pty Ltd., a Hawthorn East Victoria establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Big Yum Beef Pie products due to undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Beef Pie products are subject to this recall:

  • Coles Supermarkets Big Yum Beef Pies, consisting of enclosed pastry pie with beef filling and sold in 175 gram packages with a batch/lot of 235/18 and an APN/EAN of 9310645203539

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to undeclared Egg. If you have an allergy or intolerance to Egg you should neither serve nor consume this product.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Beef Pie products and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
