The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Ham Biscuit products are subject to this recall:

  • Callie’s Charleston Biscuits branded Country Ham Biscuits, sold with a UPC of 897856002001
  • Callie’s Charleston Biscuits branded Cocktail Ham Biscuits, sold with a UPC of 897856002049

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Ham Biscuit products can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, as a result of Johnston County Hams issuing a recall for approximately 89,096 pounds of ready-to-eat Ham products due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination, Callie’s Charleston Biscuits has recalled two (2) products that may used pork products named in the primary recall.

The product was produced and shipped between April 3, 2017 and October 3, 2018 and distributed to customers nationwide. Despite the large date range, it may be possible that some of the recalled Ham Biscuit product may have been frozen and stored in home freezers.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Ham Biscuit products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Ham Biscuits, to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
