UK FlagUK/London: McWurst Scotch Egg Recall [UK]Dearne Valley Foods, an English establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of McWurst branded Scotch Egg products and McWurst branded Mini Savoury Egg products due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Egg products are subject to recall:

  • McWurst branded Scotch Eggs, sold in chilled packages of two (2) eggs with use-by dates ranging from 13 September 2018 to 25 September 2018
  • McWurst branded Mini Savoury Eggs, sold in chilled packages of twelve (12) eggs with use-by dates ranging from 13 September 2018 to 24 September 2018

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Egg products are pictured on the Web site above.

According to the FSA, Dearne Valley Foods has recalled the above batch/lots of McWurst Scotch Egg products because Listeria monocytogenes has been found in two separate batches. These products are sold in Booths and Booker.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Egg products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Egg products to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
