US FlagUS/Washington: Uber Numb Topical Anesthetic Cream & Spray Recall [US]UberScientific LLC, of Kissimmee, Florida recalls an estimated 76,000 Uber Numb Topical Anesthetic Cream and Spray products due to suspected failure to meet Federal Child Resistant Closure Requirements and consequential risk of child poisoning and/or severe illness, all serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain UberScientific Uber Numb Topical Anesthetic Cream and Uber Numb Spray products.

  • The recalled Cream products are sold in white jars with a smooth, rounded cap and a green label with the product name, “Uber Numb Topical Anesthetic Cream” printed on the front of the jar. The Cream was sold in one (1)-, two (2)- and four (4)-ounce sizes with the batch/lot numbers printed on the bottom of the jar and the UPC number printed on the label to the left of the product name. The brand name, “UberScientific” is printed on the label below the net weight, as follows:
    • Uber Scientific branded Uber Numb Topical Anesthetic Cream, sold in one (1)-ounce jars with batch/lot designations of A23Z3 or F12Z5 and a UPC of 00863255000306
    • Uber Scientific branded Uber Numb Topical Anesthetic Cream, sold in two (2)-ounce jars with batch/lot designations of L06Z2A, L06Z2B or B01N2A and a UPC of 00863255000344
    • Uber Scientific branded Uber Numb Topical Anesthetic Cream, sold in four (4)-ounce jars with batch/lot designations of E10Z4, L06Z2 or B01N2 and a UPC of 0083255000313
  • The recalled Spray products are sold in green bottles with a white cap and has a white label with the product name, “Uber Numb Spray” printed on the front. The Spray was sold in four (4) ounce size with the lot numbers printed on the bottom of the bottle and the UPC number printed on the label to the right of the product name. The brand name, “UberScientific” is printed on the label to the left of the product name, as follows:
    • Uber Scientific branded Uber Numb Topical Anesthetic Spray, sold in one (1)-ounce bottles with batch/lot designations of K30Z6 or B09N2 and a UPC of 00850777008002

According to the CPSC, the packaging is not child resistant as required by the Federal Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The Pain Relieving Cream and Spray products contain Lidocaine, posing a risk of poisoning to young children if they put it on their skin or ingest it.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Uber Scientific Uber Numb Topical Anesthetic products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly place the recalled Topical Anesthetic products out of reach of children and contact UberScientific for instructions on how to receive a free replacement or full refund. Consumers with the recalled Cream can receive a free replacement cap that is child-resistant. Consumers with the recalled Spray can receive a free replacement Cream with the new child-resistant cap or a full refund.
