US FlagUS/Washington: Traeger Scout and Ranger Portable Grill Recall [US]Traeger Grills, a Salt Lake City, Utah establishment, recalls an estimated 16,100 Traeger Grills branded Scout and Ranger Portable Wood Pellet Grills due to suspected grease leakage from the drip tray and consequential risk of fire, burns and property damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Traeger branded Scout and Ranger Portable Wood-Pellet Fueled Grills.

  • The recalled Portable Wood-Pellet Grills are black-metal rectangular boxes with a clamshell opening for access to the grill surface with each Grill being marked with the brand “Traeger”.
    • The Scout model also has an image of mountains on the top of the Grill and a curved silver handle on the front of the Grill with a round dial to adjust the temperature.
    • The Ranger model has a straight silver handle on the front of the Grill with a push-button touchpad to adjust the temperature.

Both of the recalled Grills measure approximately 21 inches long, 20 inches wide by 13 inches high. The Scout weighs about 45 pounds and the Ranger weighs about 60 pounds. including its cast iron griddle accessory.

According to the CPSC, cooking grease can leak from the drip tray of the recalled Grills, posing fire and burn hazards. The firm has received six (6) reports of grease fires in the Grill. No injuries have been reported.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Traeger Scout and/or Ranger Portable Grills, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Traeger Grills for a free replacement Grill, free replacement drip tray to repair the Grill defect, or a full refund.
