Canada/Ottawa: Lavite brand Soft-Dried Mango Recall [Canada]Highwide International, a Markham, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Lavite brand Soft-Dried Mango due to undeclared Sulphites (Sulfites), a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Dried Mango products are subject to this recall:

  • Lavite brand Soft-Dried Mango, sold in 100 gram dark green plastic stand-up pouches with batch/lots of 2018 APR 20 or 2019 APR 20 and a UPC of 8 936131 430107

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Dried Mango products can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Highwide International has recalled the above batch/lots of Lavite brand Soft-Dried Mango products from the Canadian marketplace because they contain Sulphites, an ingredient not declared on the label. People with a sensitivity to Sulphites (Sulfites) should not consume the recalled product identified above,

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Dried Mango products and could be allergic to their Sulfite ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
