Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Schweppes Lemonade Recall [Australia]Schweppes Australia Pty Ltd., a Melbourne, Victoria, establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Schweppes Lemonade due to suspected mislabelling and consequential risk of undeclared Sugar, a known risk or complicating factor for certain diseases and conditions including Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Heart Disease and possible trigger for unstable blood sugar levels, Hyperglycemia and other urgent health problems, all serious and potential fatal situations, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Soft Drink beverages are subject to this recall:

  • Schweppes Lemonade, sold in 1.1 Litre bottles, with a best-before date code of 11 MAR 19 with time codes ranging from 20:16 to 20:40 and a manufacturing code of 3202

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, an incorrect label (“Schweppes Lemonade Zero Sugar”) has been applied to the back of the bottle. This does not accurately describe the ingredients used in this product. The front label, however, is correct.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Schweppes Lemonade beverages and could be a condition that might prove dangerous id undeclared sugar was consumed, have a close family member in the same situation or are unsure of your Diabetic status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
