Additional information:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) recommends that you should not buy or serve, nor should retailers sell any Kellogg’s Honey Smacks Cereal at this time.

The CDC, state and local health officials in conjunction with the US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) are currently investigating a multi-state outbreak of Salmonellosis, the infection caused by Salmonella bacteria thought to be caused in this case by consumption of certain batch/lots of Kellogg’s Honey Smacks Cereal products.

As of September 4, 2018, the affected Cereal products have been implicated in the illnesses of 130 people across 36 states. Of these, thirty four (34) people have been hospitalized. As of press time, no deaths have been reported.

If you see any Kellogg’s Honey Smacks Cereal products for sale, do not buy them. The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) has become aware that the recalled Kellogg’s Honey Smacks Cereal is still being offered for sale and are working to prevent these sales.

Food contaminated with Salmonella bacteria typically looks, smells and tastes normal. There is no way to tell that your Cereal have been contaminated. Consequently, if in doubt, throw it out.

If you think you have consumed any Kellogg’s Honey Smacks Cereal and have been sick, you may wish to seek immediate medical attention, advising your physician or clinic that you may be part of this outbreak.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Kellogg’s Honey Smacks Cereal, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Cereal to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
