Provisions Co., a Harrison, Ohio establishment, recalls an estimated 960 pounds of Cooked Beef Patty Crumbles due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Beef Patty Crumbles are subject to this recall:

  • Cooked Beef Patty Crumbles, sold in 20-pound cases containing four, 5-pound sealed pouches with a case code of 47860 and a Julian date code of 18137

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the cooked, ready-to-eat Beef Patty Crumble items subject to recall were produced on May 17, 2018 and bear establishment number “EST. 1917” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to distribution centers located in California.

The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) inspection program personnel discovered the problem on August 31, 2018 during routine inspection duties. The product was tested by the establishment and found to be positive for L. monocytogenes under their sampling program.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Beef Patty Crumbles, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store or distributor where you purchased it for a full refund.
