Canada/Ottawa: Pinty's Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Strip Recall Update [Canada]Pinty’s Delicious Foods Inc., a Burlington Ontario establishment, expands its existing recall for certain batch/lots of Pinty’s brand Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Strips to include one (1) additional Chicken product.

The original recall was initiated due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Chicken products are subject to this recall:

  • Pinty’s branded Italian Style Chicken Schnitzel – Gluten Free Fully Cooked, Breaded and Seasoned Cutlettes, sold in four (4) kilogram packages with a product code of 8172 and a UPC of 10069094626371

The original notification listed the following Chicken products for recall:

  • Pinty’s branded Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Strips, sold in one (1) kilogram plastic tray packages with a best-before date code of 2018 AU 09 and a UPC of 0 69094 62401 1
  • Pinty’s branded Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Strips, sold in one (1) kilogram plastic tray packages with a best-before date code of 2018 AU 15 and a UPC of 0 69094 62401 1

According to the CFIA, Pinty’s Delicious Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of Pinty’s brand Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Strips due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. You should not consume and distributors and food service establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals and nursing homes should not sell, serve or use the recalled Chicken product identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chicken Strips, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
