US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Lily Bulb branded Dried Vegetable Recall [US]New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, an Albany, New York establishment, warns against consuming certain batch/lots of Lily Bulb branded Vegetables due to undeclared Sulfites, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Dried Vegetables are subject to this recall:

  • Lily Bulb branded Dried Vegetable, sold in 10-ounce (283 gram) plastic bags with a clear window and a red top swoosh. The Lily Bulb does not have a use-by code but it is labeled as a “product of China” with a UPC of 6-43719-11002-0. The Lily Bulb products were distributed by Allied Imports Inc. of 267 52nd Street, Brooklyn, NY 11220

According to the FDA, New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets has issued a warning against consuming certain batch/lots of Lily Bulb branded Vegetables due to undeclared Sulfites.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Lily Bulb branded Dried Vegetable and could be allergic to their Sulfite ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it or discard it in your household trash.

The consumption of 10 milligrams of Sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some people with Asthma. In addition, Anaphylactic Shock could occur in certain Sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of Sulfites.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
