US FlagUS/Washington: Homestyle branded Meatloaf Recall [US]Taylor Farms Northwest, LLC, a Kent, Washington establishment, recalls an estimated 62 pounds of ready-to-eat Homestyle branded Meatloaf products due to undeclared Anchovy Fish and Milk, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Meatloaf products are subject to this recall:

  • Homestyle branded Meatloaf, sold in 16-ounce clear containers with a sell-by date of 8/25/2018 listed on the front packaging label.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Meatloaf products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 34834” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Oregon and Washington.

The problem was discovered on August 20, 2018, when a Taylor Farms Northwest employee conducted an inventory check and discovered certain units of its Turkey Meatloaf with Kale were labeled as Homestyle Meatloaf, a beef product. The establishment then notified the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) of the problem.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Homestyle branded Meatloaf products and could be allergic to their Fish and/or Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
