According to the CPSC, the recalled Furnaces can overheat and cause the heat-exchanger to crack and create openings that allow flames to be exposed. When this happens, drywall and other nearby combustibles are exposed to the flames, posing a fire and smoke hazard to consumers. UPG has received reports of 402 incidents, including some involving extensive property damage, that could be related to these hazards. No injuries have been reported.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Furnaces, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact UPG to schedule a free inspection and receive a $100 towards the cost of a new replacement UPG Furnace, if the inspected Furnace is included in the recall. Previously repaired units are not eligible for the refund.
