Ltd, a Toowoomba, Queensland establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Gary Gumball Ice Cream due to suspected Glass fragment contamination and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Ice Cream products are subject to this recall:

  • Strawberry and chocolate flavoured Ice Cream with compound chocolate and a bubble gumball, sold in six by 90 mL packages, with best-before dates ranging from 14/02/2019 to 01/03/2020 and 22/05/2020 (14 FEB 2019 to 01 MAR 2020 and 22 MAY 2020) and individual serve-size best-before dates ranging from 15/02/2019 to 01/03/2020 (15 FEB 2019 to 01 MAR 2020)

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to the potential presence of Glass Fragments in the Gumball portion of the Ice Cream.

In general, if glass or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Ice Cream products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
