The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Nasal Spray products are subject to this recall:

  • CVS Health branded 12 Hour Sinus Relief Nasal Mist, consisting of a clear, colorless liquid and sold in 0.5 fluid ounce bottles placed in individual folding cartons with a batch/Lot designation of 173089J and expiry date code of EXP 09/19 and a UPC of 50428432365

According to the FDA, Product Quest establishment has recalled an estimated 16,896 bottles of CVS Health 12 Hour Sinus Relief Nasal Mist due to suspected risk of Pseudomonas aeruginosa contamination. You should not use the above identified Nasal Spray products.

Further, repetitive use of Nasal Spray products containing a Gram-negative pathogen can potentially lead to colonization and subsequent infection which can be life threatening in certain patient populations, such as those with Cystic Fibrosis or immuno-compromised.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm drug poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any drug, return it to your retailer for refund.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Nasal Spray products, please do not consume them directly. Instead, return the drug to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
