Hostess Cookies ‘n Creme Brownie Recall [US]

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Brownies are subject to this recall:

  • Hostess branded Cookies ‘n Crème Brownies MP FSH, sold with batch/lots of F052123000, F061123000, F071623000 or F072323000 and a UPC of 20888109113579
  • Hostess branded Cookies ‘n Crème Brownies MP FZN, sold with a batch/lot of F052123000 and a UPC of 30888109213573
  • Hostess branded Cookies ‘n Crème Brownies SS FSH, sold with batch/lots of F052123000, F061123000, F071623000 or F072323000 and a UPC of 20888109012025
  • Hostess branded Cookies ‘n Crème Brownies SS FZN, sold with batch/lots of F052123000 or F071623000 and a UPC of 30888109022021

According to the FDA, Hostess Brands, LLC has recalled the above batch/lots of Hostess branded Cookies ‘n Crème Brownies because the “Contains” statement on these snack products does not list “Egg” as an allergen. Although the ingredient list on the packaging does identify “Egg” as an ingredient, the “Contains” statement, which is designed to further alert consumers of allergens in the products, does not include “Egg”.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Hostess branded Cookies ‘n Crème Brownies and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
