Canada/Ottawa: Apex Premium LED Lighting Set Recall [Canada]London Drugs Limited, a Richmond, British Columbia establishment, recalls an estimated 122 Apex Premium LED Lighting Sets due to suspected component melting and consequential risk fire, burns and property damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves certain Apex Premium LED Lighting Sets. The products are non-rechargeable battery (i.e., not AC) powered. Instead, they use standard AA batteries and were available in two (2) models, as follows:

  • 25 LED G20 Light Set, Warm White or Multi Color, green color wire, sold with a model number of 43305BO and a UPC of 886778433055
  • 25 LED G20 Light Set, Warm White or Multi Color, copper color wire, sold with a model number of 06706 and a UPC of 886778067069

According to Health Canada, the battery box of the affected LED Lighting Sets may melt when the lights are turned on, posing fire and burn hazards.

As of June 25, 2018, the company has received two (2) reports of consumer incidents related to the use of this product in Canada, but no reports of injuries.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled LED Lighting Sets, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact London Drugs Limited for a full refund.
