US FlagUS/Silver Spring: ALDI Hawaiian Poke Kit Recall [US]ALDI US, a Batavia, Illinois establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of AnnaSea Wasabi Ahi Poke Hawaiian Poke Kits and Limu Ahi Poke Hawaiian Poke Kits sol at certain ALDI stores due to suspected storage at incorrect temperature and consequential risk of cold chain breakage, spoilage, bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Fish products are subject to this recall:

  • Maryland/Virginia Poke Recall:
    • Wasabi Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kits, Limu Ahi Poke Kits, sold with a UPC of 99221 00110 at the ALDI stores located with best-by dates of 5/23/2020. 6/11/2020, 6/12/2020 or 6/14/2020.
    • Limu Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kits, sold with a UPC of 99221 00110 at the ALDI stores located at 2725 Maret St. NE, Canton, Ohio and 4664 Sawmill Rd, Columbus, Ohio with best-by dates of 5/23/2020. 6/11/2020, 6/12/2020 or 6/14/2020. These Poke Fish products were sold the following ALDI stores:
      • 8256 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, Virginia
      • 6301 Marlboro Pike, District Heights, Maryland
      • 1312 Business Center Way, Edgewood, Maryland
      • 3250 East Fayette St., Baltimore, Maryland
      • 7500 Albert Rd., Brandywine, Maryland
      • 20904 Frederick Road, Germantown, Maryland
  • North Carolina Poke Recall:
    • Wasabi Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kits, Limu Ahi Poke Kits, sold with a UPC of 99221 00110 at the ALDI store located at 110 Duncan Hill Road, Hendersonville, North Carolina with best-by dates of 5/23/2020. 6/11/2020, 6/12/2020 or 6/14/2020.
    • Limu Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kits, sold with a UPC of 99221 00109 at the ALDI store located at 110 Duncan Hill Road, Hendersonville, North Carolina with best-by dates of 5/23/2020. 6/11/2020, 6/12/2020 or 6/14/2020.
  • Ohio Poke Recall:
    • Wasabi Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kits, Limu Ahi Poke Kits, sold with a UPC of 99221 00110 at the ALDI stores located at 2725 Maret St. NE, Canton, Ohio and 4664 Sawmill Rd, Columbus, Ohio with best-by dates of 5/23/2020. 6/11/2020, 6/12/2020 or 6/14/2020.
    • Limu Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kits, sold with a UPC of 99221 00110 at the ALDI stores located at 2725 Maret St. NE, Canton, Ohio and 4664 Sawmill Rd, Columbus, Ohio with best-by dates of 5/23/2020. 6/11/2020, 6/12/2020 or 6/14/2020.

According to the FDA, ALDI has recalled certain AnnaSea Wasabi Ahi Poke Hawaiian Poke Kits and Limu Ahi Poke Hawaiian Poke Kits due to suspected storage at incorrect temperature and consequential risk of cold chain breakage, spoilage, bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications. You should not serve nor consume the Poke Fish products identified above above and listed in the affected stores lists.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Poke Fish products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Poke to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
