US FlagUS/Washington: Nueske's branded Braised Pork Recall [US]Nueske’s Meat Products, Inc., a Wittenberg, Wisconsin. establishment, recalls an estimated 12,946 pounds of Nueske’s branded Braised Pork products due to suspected product reformulation and consequential risk of undeclared Brown Rice Flour and Glycerin, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Braised Pork products are subject to this recall:

  • Nueske’s Braised Pork Medallions in a Mushroom Pork Demi-Glace, sold in one (1) pound, six (6)-ounce (22-ounce) vacuum-sealed packages with batch/lot codes of 700053, 600342, 700055, 700145, 700243, 700250, 700261, 800039, 800066 or 800114
  • Nueske’s Braised Pork Shank In Pork Demi-Glace, sold in two-and-half pound (40-ounce) vacuum-sealed packages with batch/lot codes of 7700035, 700047, 700098, 700166, 700228, 700238,700242, 700256, 700262, 700144, 800032, 800046, 800087 or 800108

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 20341” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped directly to consumers nationwide via Web and mail order sales.

The problem was discovered on June 29, 2018 when Nueske’s Meat Products, informed the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) that its primary ingredients supplier had reformulated the product without notifying the firm.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Nueske’s branded Braised Pork products and could be allergic to their Brown Rice Flour and/or Glycerin ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
