US FlagUS/Washington: Land O’Frost branded Ham product Recall [US]Land O’Frost, Inc., a Madisonville, Kentucky establishment, recalls an estimated 4,944 pounds of Land O’Frost branded Ham products due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Ham products are subject to this recall:

  • Land O’Frost Premium Old World Style Black Forest Ham product, sold in one (1)-pound plastic gas-flushed resealable packages containing a single ham labeled with a batch/lot number of 8117D and a sell-by date of August 10, 2018.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Ham products subject to recall bear establishment number “Est.500K” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to a retail locations in the states of Arizona, California, Oregon, Texas and Washington.

The problem was discovered on June 20, 2018 after Land O’Frost received a consumer complaint about the product. The firm notified the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) of the problem on June 22, 2018.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Ham products and could be allergic to their ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
