US FlagUS/Washington: Ketra branded D3 Recessed Downlight Recall [US]Ketra, Inc., an Austin, Texas establishment, recalls an estimated 3,400 Ketra branded D3 Recessed Downlights due to suspected incorrect wiring and consequential risk of electric shock and fire damage, all serious safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Ketra branded D3 Recessed Downlights produced between November 4, 2016 and March 14, 2018.

The date code on the Recessed Downlights is located on a sticker attached to each unit and is in the format KWWYY representing WW-work week and YY-year of manufacture. Only Downlights with date codes between K4816 and K1118 are included in this recall.

The Recessed Downlights are typically installed behind a ceiling and the light generated by the LED bulbs that illuminate the space below. The light fixture enclosure measures approximately 18.5 inches by 10 inches by 4 inches. The Downlight itself is dark gray and black in color and weighs approximately eight pounds.

According to the CPSC, the Power Supply Connectors in certain Ketra branded Recessed Downlights could have incorrect wiring and consequentially pose an electric shock hazard to anyone who operates the Downlight.
