US FlagUS/Washington: Green Field Farms Rogers Texas Ground Beef Recall [US]Texas Natural Meats, a Lott, Texas establishment, recalls an estimated 489 pounds of frozen Raw, Ground Beef products labeled as Green Field Farms Rogers Texas Ground Beef due to suspected Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli / E. coli (“STEC”) O103 contamination and consequential gram-negative bacterial infection, all serious health hazards.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following frozen Ground Beef are subject to this recall:

  • Green Field Farms Rogers Texas Ground Beef, sold in one (1)-pound bags with a production date of 08.08.2017 and an expiration date listed as 08.08.2020. The bags are labeled as “Cook Use Only” with the instruction “Do Not Refreeze After Defrosting”.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Ground Beef products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 34449” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to a retailer who sold the product at a farmer’s market in Roger, Texas.

The problem was discovered on June 19, 2018 by a US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) during routine inspection activities. The Ground Beef product was tested by the establishment and found to be positive for STEC O103 under their sampling program.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Ground Beef products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
