US FlagUS/Washington:  MSA Nuevo Wrap Safety Glasses Recall [Canada]Werner Co, a Greenville, Pennslyvania establishment recalls an estimated 78,000 Werner branded Multi-Purpose Telescoping Aluminum Ladders due to suspected structural failure and consequential risk of falls, injury and property damage, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves five (5) models of Aluminum Telescoping Ladders that can be used in five different positions (twin step ladder, stairway step ladder, extension ladder, wall ladder and as two scaffold bases).

The date code of the recalled Ladders is stamped on the inside of the outer leg of the Ladder, beneath the bottom step while the model number is printed on a label located on the side of the ladder rail. The recalled Ladders have a load capacity of 375 pounds, as follows:

  • Model Number: MT-IAA-13A; date code: 121744XX or 011844XX; size: 13 feet
  • Model Number: MT-IAA-17A; date code: 121744XX or 011844XX; size: 17 feet
  • Model Number: MT-IAA-22A; date code: 121744XX or 011844XX; size: 22 feet
  • Model Number: MT-IAA-26; date code: 121744XX or 011844XX; size: 26 feet
  • Model Number: MT-IAA-26A; date code: 121744XX or 011844XX; size: 26 feet

According to the CPSC, the Aluminum Ladder can break while in use, posing a fall hazard to the climber. The firm has received one (1) report of a ladder breaking while in use, resulting in one (1) injury to the left side and elbow of the climber.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Aluminum Ladders, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
