US FlagUS/Washington: Venda Ravioli Meat Ravioli Recall [US]Venda Ravioli, Inc., a Providence, Rhode Island establishment, recalls an additional 66 pounds of Frozen Meat and Poultry Pasta products for a total of 738 pounds of Venda Ravioli Meat Ravioli Products, due to suspected production without benefit of federal inspection on various dates from February 22, 2018 through June 7, 2018., a serious health hazard. Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Meat and Chicken Products are subject to this recall:

  • Venda Ravioli, Pasta Fresca, Costantino’s Chicken Prosciutto Ravioli, sold in 16-ounce sealed trays with a batch/lot code of 05318-15918
  • Venda Ravioli, Pasta Fresca, Costantino’s Chicken Prosciutto Walnuts Ravioli, sold in 16-ounce sealed trays with a batch/lot code of 05318-15918
  • Venda Ravioli, Pasta Fresca, Costantino’s Chicken Tortelloni, sold in 16-ounce sealed trays with with a batch/lot code of 05318-15918

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Meat Ravioli and Prosciutto & Provolone and Chicken Prosciutto Ravioli products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST.9501” inside the USDA mark of inspection while the Italian Sausage Ravioli and Osso Bucco Ravioli products do not have the USDA mark of inspection on the packaging. All of the recalled Meat Ravioli products, however, are reported to have been shipped to retail locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

The problem was discovered on June 7, 2018 when US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) personnel were performing inspection activities.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession of any of the Meat Ravioli and Prosciutto and/or Provolone products please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
