US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Del Monte 6-ounce Vegetable TraysDel Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc. trading as Del Monte Fresh, a Coral Gables, Florida establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Vegetable Trays containing Fresh Broccoli, Cauliflower, Celery Sticks, Carrots, and Dill Dip due to suspected Cyclospora contamination and consequential risk of parasitic infection from the Cyclospora cayetanensis, a serious health hazard.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Del Monte Fresh branded Vegetable Trays are subject to this recall:

The recalled products were distributed to: Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Demond’s, Sentry, Potash, Meehan’s, Country Market, Food Max Supermarket and Peapod in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin and have “Best If Enjoyed By” date of June 17, 2018 or earlier. The recalled products were distributed for sale in clear plastic containers with the following labels and markings:

  • Del Monte 6-ounce Vegetable Trays w/Dip with a most recent best-by date of 6/17/2018 consisting of baby carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and dill dip with a UPC of 7 1752472715 2
  • Del Monte 12-ounce Vegetable Trays w/Dip with a most recent best-by date of 6/17/2018 consisting of baby carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and dill dip with a UPC of 7 1752472518 9
  • Del Monte 28-ounce Small Vegetable Trays w/Dip with a most recent best-by date of 6/17/2018 consisting of baby carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and dill dip with a UPC of 7 1752478604 3

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, the recalled Veg Trays were distributed to: Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Demond’s, Sentry, Potash, Meehan’s, Country Market, Food Max Supermarket and Peapod stores and outlets in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin and have “best-if-enjoyed-by” date of June 17, 2018 or earlier.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Veg Trays, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Veg Trays to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
