US FlagUS/Washington: H-E-B Stores branded Sausage Recall [US]J Bar B Foods, a Waelder, Texas establishment, recalls an estimated 410,985 pounds of Beef Brisket Smoked Sausage Products due to undeclared Pork Casing, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Beef Brisket Smoked Sausage products are subject to this recall:

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Sausage products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the Beef products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 7066” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Texas.

The problem was discovered on June 12, 2018 in response to a customer inquiry that a Beef Brisket Smoked Sausage product did not specify Pork Casing as part of its ingredients statement.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Beef Brisket Smoked Sausage products and could be allergic to their Pork Casing ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
