Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain model year 2015 through 2017 Amerisun PowerSmart Gas-Powered 2 Stage Snow Blowers.

The recalled Snow Blowers are red and black and have the brand “POWERSMART” printed on the driving controls’ plastic cover. The model number can be found on the PowerSmart sticker located on the metal auger housing just below the chute. The serial number can be found on the bar code sticker below the PowerSmart sticker, as follows:

  • PowerSmart Snow Blowers, with a model designation of DB7103-24, a 2015 model year and a serial number range from 0011506710302400001 through 0011511710302402205
  • PowerSmart Snow Blowers, with a model designation of DB7103-24, a 2016 model year and a serial number range from 0011607710302400001 through 0011610710302402322
  • PowerSmart Snow Blowers, with a model designation of DB7103-26, a 2015 model year and a serial number range from 0011507710302600001 through 0011509710302600420

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the pulley bolt on the recalled Snow Blowers can loosen and cause the unit to get stuck in drive mode, posing an injury hazard. Amerisun has received twenty (20) reports of loose pulley bolts, fifteen (15) in the US and five (5) in Canada, including eight (8) reports of the Snow Blower getting stuck in drive mode. No injuries have been reported.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Snow Blowers, please do not use them. Instead, kindly inspect your Snow Blower to determine if it has a loose pulley bolt. Inspection instructions can be found the company’s Web site at https://powersmartusa.com/pages/bolt-inspection-instruction-sheet.

==> If you find your Snow Blower has a loose pulley bolt, please should contact Amerisun for a free repair kit or for instructions on how to get the bolt tightened free of charge.
