Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain under-odorized Propane (“LP”) Gas products delivered to consumers for use in storage tanks or sold at retail locations in portable refillable cylinders (for use in recreational vehicles, barbeques, stoves and other appliances). According to the CPSC, the recalled Propane Gas does not contain sufficient levels of odorant to help alert consumers to a gas leak. Failure to detect leaking Gas can present fire, explosion and thermal burn hazards. The Gas was distributed in Louisiana and Texas by various companies and sold by retailers between February 2018 and April 2018.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Propane Gas, please do not use it nor attempt to test the Propane Gas yourself. Instead, if you have Propane delivered to storage tanks you should immediately contact your retailer, supplier or Keyera Energy to arrange for a free inspection.

If the inspection confirms that your Propane contains insufficient odorant, Keyera Energy will arrange for additional odorization or a replacement of the under-odorized Propane. It is important to have Carbon Monoxide alarms in homes or other buildings that utilize propane gas. If you do smell Propane Gas — even a faint odor of gas or a gas leak — immediately leave the building and call 911 or call their gas supplier. Do not light a match, turn on a light or switch on anything electrical, including a flashlight.
