According to the FDA, H-E-B has recalled the above indicated flavors and container sizes of EconoMax and Hill Country Fare Ice Creams as well as Creamy Creations Sherbets due to suspected metal fragments, possibly from processing equipment. The affected dessert products were distributed to stores in Texas and Mexico.

In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
