The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Shaving Gels and Cremes are subject to this recall:

Herb-X Solutions branded X-Jow Pain Gel is used as an external analgesic, and is packaged in 4-ounce and 8-ounce. bottles. The United Exchange Acne Shave Moisturizer and Acne Shave Shave Cream with Acne Shield are used as topical acne medications and are packaged in 3.3-ounce and 5.1-ounce bottles respectively. The United Exchange Acne Shave Shave Kit contains potentially affected units of both the Acne Shave Moisturizer and the Acne Shave Shave Cream with Acne Shield, all as follows:

  • Herb-X Solutions branded X-Jow Pain Gel, sold in 4-ounce bottles
  • Herb-X Solutions branded X-Jow Pain Gel, sold in 8-ounce bottles
  • United Exchange branded Acne Shave Moisturizer, sold in 3.3-ounce bottles
  • United Exchange branded Acne Shave Shave Cream with Acne Shield, sold in 5.1-ounce bottles
  • United Exchange branded Acne Shave Shave Kits

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, topical administration of these Shaving Gel and Creme products could result in potentially serious bacterial infections in immunocompromised individuals. As of the date of this recall notification, however, Shadow Holdings has not received any reports of adverse events related to this recall.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm drug medication poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any drug, return it to your retailer for refund, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect medication.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Shaving Gels and Cremes, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Gels and Cremes to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
