Canada/Ottawa: Q Sweety Owl Plush Children's Toy Recall [Canada]One’s Better Living Inc., a Markham, Ontario establishment, recalls an estimated 280 Q Sweety Owl Plush Children’s Toys due to suspected component detachment and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Children’s Toys are subject to this recall:

  • Q Sweety Owl Plush Children’s Toys, consisting of Plush Toys that were sold in either pink or green colour schemes with an item number of 15271 and a UPC of 4892300152710

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Children’s Toys can be found on the Web site above.

According to Health Canada, its sampling and evaluation program has determined that the recalled Plush Children’s Toys do not meet the Canadian safety requirements for toys. Specifically, the hard plastic nose on the Toy can detach and pose a choking hazard to young children.

As of the date of the original recall notification, One’s Better Living has received no consumer reports of incidents nor injuries related to the use of these Toys in Canada.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Plush Children’s Toys, please do not use them nor let your children play with or near. Instead, kindly contact One’s Better Living to obtain further instructions on how to return the product for a full refund.
