US FlagUS/Silver Spring: New Seasons Market branded Croissant Recall [US]New Seasons Market LLC, a Portland, Oregon establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of New Seasons Market branded Mini Butter Croissants and New Seasons Market branded Mini Chocolate Croissants due to undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Croissant products are subject to this recall:

  • Two varieties of Mini Croissants were distributed in Oregon and Washington to New Seasons Market stores for retail in the Bakery department, with UPCs and best-before dates as follows:
    • New Seasons Market branded Mini Butter Croissants, sold in packages of eight (8) Croissants and packaged in six (6) ounce clear plastic clam-shell containers with all best-before date codes up to 5/27/2018 and a UPC of 840600109044
    • New Seasons Market branded Chocolate Croissants, sold in packages of eight (8) Croissants and packaged in 7.6 ounce clear plastic clam-shell containers with all best-before date codes up to 5/27/2018 and a UPC of 804600109051

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after it was discovered that products containing Egg were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of Egg. Products were slightly sprayed with egg before baking.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Croissants and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
