Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Ice Cream are subject to this recall:

  • Coles branded Mini Classics Vanilla Ice Cream, consisting of 360 mL of chocolate coated ice cream mounted on wooden sticks with best-before dates of 16/04/2020 and 17/04/2020 with an APN/EAN of 9300601389438
  • Coles branded Mini Classics Almond Ice Cream, consisting of 360 mL of chocolate coated ice cream mounted on wooden sticks with a best-before date of 18/04/2020 with an APN/EAN of 9300601389421

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to the potential presence of metal fragments.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Ice Cream products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
