The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Pesto Sauce products are subject to this recall:

  • Stonewall Kitchen Basil Pesto, sold in 8 ounce (net) jars with an ‘enjoy-by’ date code of 28SEP2019 and a UPC of 7 11381 03060 8. The Pesto products were sold in cases of marked as ‘Stonewall Kitchen Basil Pesto Aioli’ with 12 jars per case with an ‘enjoy-by’ date code of 28SEP2019 and a UPC of 7 11381 31752 5

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, Stonewall Kitchen has recalled certain batch/lots of 10.25 ounce Basil Pesto Aioli as the company mistakenly labeled the jars as Basil Pesto. The Basil Pesto Aioli product contains the allergen Egg, whereas the Basil Pesto product does not.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Basil Pesto products and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
