EU issues 29 Product, Toy & Vehicle Recalls

Among the 29 recalls the European Union has announced in its third report of April 2018 the following notification was made:

Gooband branded Toy Slime recall [EU]

Gooband branded Toy Slime, sold with a model number of GP074, a batch/lot designation of GP074 Batch Code 3 – yellow and a barcode/UPC/EAN of 5037832308658.

The type of hazards presented in this Children’s Toy include levels of Boron in this product in excess of the European permitted levels, specifically at recorded levels up to 520 mg/kg. Ingestion or contact with an excessive quantity of Boron may harm the reproductive health of children. As a precaution, the company has also recalled the following batch/lots of the same Gooband branded Toy Slime:

  • GP074 GOOGOO – batch/lot number 4
  • GP075 GLITTOGOO – batch/lot number 3 and 4
  • GP076 TOOGOO – batch/lot number 3 and 4
  • GP077 GLOWGOO – batch/lot number 3 and 4

These Children’s Toy products, therefore, do not comply with with the requirements of Europe’s Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-3 as they can cause serious injury and/or long-term and possibly life-changing damage to those who use them.

==> Please do not use any of these recalled Toy products nor allow your children to play with or near them. Instead, please return the Toy Slime to the store or online outlet from which you purchased them for a full refund.

These Children’s Toys do not comply with the requirements of the applicable European standard and have been ordered recalled from end users and withdrawn from the European marketplace.
