The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Salads are subject to this recall:

  • Great to Go by Market District branded Caesar Salad with Chicken, sold in 11.5 ounce clear plastic containers with a sell-by date codes ranging from 04/13/18 to 04/16/18 and a case code of 81571201542
  • Great to Go by Market District branded Chicken and Bacon Salad, sold in 14.4 ounce clear plastic containers with a sell-by date codes ranging from 04/13/18 to 04/16/18 and a case code of 81571201541
  • Great to Go by Market District branded Garden Salad with Chicken, sold in 14.1 ounce clear plastic containers with a sell-by date codes ranging from 04/13/18 to 04/16/18 and a case code of 81571201543
  • Great to Go by Market District branded Chef Salad with Ham, Turkey and Hard-Boiled Egg, sold in 13.1 ounce clear plastic containers with a sell-by date codes ranging from 04/13/18 to 04/16/18 and a case code of 81571201545

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Salads subject to recall bear establishment number “P-40211” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

The recall was initiated after Fresh Foods Manufacturing received notification from its Romaine Lettuce supplier that the Romaine Lettuce used to produce the Salads was being recalled due to E. coli O157:H7 concerns.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Great to Go by Market District branded Salads, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
