The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Croquettes are subject to recall:

  • Aunt Bessie’s Croquettes, sold in 550 gram packages with a best-before end date of June 2019 and a batch/lot designation ranging from D47 352 03:09 to D47 352 03:20

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional OR Additional images OR brands OR designs OR variations of the recalled products or foods are pictured on the Web site above.

According to the FSA, Aunt Bessie’s has recalled the above batch/lots of Aunt Bessie’s branded Croquettes because the packages may also include Potato Balls, a component made with Egg, an ingredient not mentioned on the label. This means the product poses a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to Egg. The affected product is only sold in Lidl.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Croquettes and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
