Canada/Ottawa: Cedar Phoenicia brand Pulled Izmir Fig Recall [Canada]Phoenicia Group Inc., a Montreal, Quebec establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Cedar Phoenicia brand Pulled Izmir Figs due to suspected risk of Mould (Mold) contamination as well as Insect Fragment contamination with consequential risk of bacterial infection and illness, all serious health hazards. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Fig Fruit products are subject to this recall:

  • Cedar Phoenicia branded Pulled Izmir Figs, sold in 500 gram packages with a batch/lot product code of L-090020561-38-33, a date code of 10/2019 and a UPC 0 62356 50236 2

According to the CFIA, Phoenicia Group has recalled certain batch/lots of Cedar Phoenicia brand Pulled Izmir Figs due to suspected risk of Mould contamination as well as Insect Fragment contamination.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Cedar Phoenicia brand Pulled Izmir Figs, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
