The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Foods are subject to recall:

  • Co-op branded Breaded Cod Fish Fillets, sold in 270 gram packages with a use-by date code of 02 April 2018

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Co-op Stores has recalled certain batch/lots of Breaded Cod Fillets because some packages may have been incorrectly packed with Battered Fillets, products that contain Milk and Mustard, two ingredients not identified on the label. This means the Co-op branded Fish products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to Milk or Milk constituents and/or an allergy Mustard.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Breaded Fish products and could be allergic to their Milk and/or Mustard ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
