The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Member’s Mark branded Chicken products are subject to this recall:

  • Member’s Mark Premium Natural Chunk Chicken Breast in Water, sold in 12.5-ounce cans in a six-unit case with a batch/lot code of 17333, a case code designation of 9816 and a use-by date of November 29, 2020.
  • Member’s Mark Food Service Premium Natural Chunk Chicken Breast in Water 50-ounce cans in a six-unit case with a batch/lot code of 17332, a case code 9817 and a use-by date of November 28, 2019.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-65” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail stores nationwide.

The problem was discovered on March 27, 2018 after the firm received two consumer complaints regarding extraneous material contamination.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Member’s Mark branded Chicken products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
