Specifically, the recalled Teethers are smaller than the permitted dimensions specified as per the regulation with the consequential risk of choking and/or suffocation, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health hazards. Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Baby Teethers are subject to this recall:

  • Miss Indi Girl branded Wooden Teethers for Babies, sold in three (3) different designs: a Bird, a Heart and a Bunny Head

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, the Teethers are smaller than the permitted dimensions specified in the mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age’. The product may get lodged in an infant/child’s throat and pose a choking or suffocation hazard.

In general, if wooden or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Baby Teethers, please do not let your child use them or play with or near them. Instead, kindly return the product to send the product back to Miss Indi Girl, 832 Military Road, North Haven SA 5018 for a full refund.
