Haggen Stores Deli Food Recall [US]


US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Haggen Stores LogoHaggen Stores, a Bellingham, Washington, establishment, in conjunction with Taylor Fresh Foods, doing business as Taylor Farms, a Salinas, California, establishment, recall certain batch/lots of Deli Foods that contain Diced Yellow Onions due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risk of bacterial infection and illness, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Deli Foods that contain Diced Yellow Onions are subject to this recall:

  • Class 1 Deli Products: the following recalled Salads were sold from the in-store deli located in the full-service and/or self-service cases and packaged in clear containers:
    • Old Fashion Potato Salad with sell-by dates ranging from 3/15/18 up to and including 3/19/18 and a UPC that begins with 202932
    • Cashew Chicken Salad with sell-by dates ranging from 3/15/18 up to and including 3/19/18 and a UPC that begins with 202928
    • Turkey Curry Salad with sell-by dates ranging from 3/15/18 up to and including 3/19/18 and a UPC that begins with 202932
  • Class 2 Deli Products: the following recalled Wraps, Deli Trays and  Sauces were sold from the in-store deli located the self-service cases:
    • Cashew Chicken Salad Wrap with sell-by dates ranging from 3/15/18 up to and including 3/19/18 and a UPC that begins with 203681
    • Cashew Chicken Croissants (2-pack) with sell-by dates ranging from 3/15/18 up to and including 3/19/18 and a UPC that begins with 203908
    • Cashew Chicken Croissant Tray with sell-by dates ranging from 3/15/18 up to and including 3/19/18 and a UPC that begins with 203812
    • Tartar Sauce with sell-by dates ranging from 3/13/18 up to and including 3/27/18 and a UPC that begins with 202804

Please note: the Cashew Chicken Products were packaged on a tray with a clear plastic cover. The Tartar Sauce was packaged in clear 12 ounce containers.

  • Class 3 Deli Products: the recalled Tartar Sauce was also offered as a condiment with made-to-order Fish & Chips from the deli, as follows
    • Tartar Sauce (served as a condiment with made-to-order Fish & Chips) with purchase dates ranging from 3/13/18 up to and including 3/17/18 and UPCs that begin with 206000, 206001, 206004 or 206006

According to the FDA, Haggen Stores in conjunction with Taylor Farms have recalled the above batch/lots of Deli Foods that contain Diced Yellow Onions due to suspected Salmonella contamination. You should not prepare, serve nor consume the products identified above sold in the following twelve (12) Haggen Stores:

  • 757 Haggen Drive, Burlington, WA 98223
  • 1313 Cooper Point Road SW, Olympia, WA 98502
  • 2900 Woburn Street, Bellingham, WA 98226
  • 26603 72nd Avenue NW, Stanwood, WA 98292
  • 1301 Avenue D, Snohomish, WA 09290
  • 1815 Main Street, Ferndale, WA 98248
  • 17641 Garden Way NE, Woodinville, WA 98072
  • 2601 East Division, Mount Vernon, WA 98273
  • 8915 Market Place NE, Lake Stevens, WA 98258
  • 3711 88th Street NE, Marysville, WA 98270

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Deli Foods that contain Diced Yellow Onions, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return these Deli Foods to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
