Canada/Ottawa: Nutty Club brand Sliced Brazil Nut Recall [Canada]Scott-Bathgate Ltd., a Winnipeg, Manitoba establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Nutty Club branded Nut Snacks due to suspected Aflatoxin contamination and consequential presence of a carcinogenic (i.e., Cancer-causing) agent and increased risk of life-changing illness, all serious health hazards. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Nuts are subject to this recall:

  • Nutty Club branded Baking Brazils, item number 014017, sold in ten (10) kilogram containers; affected packages: all units sold up to and including March 15, 2018 with no listed UPCs
  • Nutty Club branded Baking Brazils, sold in 100 gram packages; affected packages: all units sold up to and including March 15, 2018 with a UPC of 0 61966 00755 7
  • Nutty Club branded Deluxe Assorted Nuts, item number 050010, sold in ten (10) kilogram containers; affected packages: all units sold up to and including March 15, 2018 with no listed UPCs
  • Nutty Club branded Deluxe Assorted Nuts, sold in 450 gram packages; affected packages: all units sold up to and including March 15, 2018 with a UPC of 0 61966 00431 0
  • Nutty Club branded Deluxe Assortment (Cashews 50%), sold in 85 gram packages; affected packages: all units sold up to and including March 15, 2018 with a UPC of 0 61966 00356 6
  • Nutty Club branded Sliced Brazils, item number 014018, sold in ten (10) kilogram containers; affected packages: all units sold up to and including March 15, 2018 with no listed UPCs

According to the CFIA, Scott-Bathgate has recalled the above batch/lots of Nutty Club branded Nut Snacks  due to suspected Aflatoxin contamination.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Nut Snakes, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
