The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Ground Beef products are subject to this recall:

  • Good Boucher brand Lean Ground Beef, sold in 285 gram packages with a batch/lot designation of 18-03-07 and a best-before date code of 2018-03-21
  • Good Boucher brand Lean Ground Beef, sold in 510 gram packages with a batch/lot designation of 18-03-05 and a best-before date code of 2018-03-19
  • Good Boucher brand Lean Ground Beef, sold in 510 gram packages with a batch/lot designation of 18-03-05 and a best-before date code of 2018-03-19

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, this recall was initiated by a positive test for Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) made by its own labs. The recalled Ground Beef was known to be distributed in the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Quebec but could have been sold throughout all of Canada nationwide.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Lean Ground Beef, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
