Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Dummy Chains for Babies are subject to this recall:

  • Teenee Tot Baby Dummy Chains, consisting of dummy (i.e., soother) chains made with silicone beads, nylon cords and beech wood clasps

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the products’ design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this baby soother/dummy product does not comply with the requirements of the ban on baby dummy chains with unsafe decorations, specifically outlined in Australia’s Consumer Protection Notice No. 34 of 2011. The recalled Dummy Chains exceed the maximum length allowable for these devices, and small parts are able to be detached. If small parts are indeed detached during use, they pose choking and ingestion hazards for the baby, infant or child using them.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dummy Chains, please do not use them for your child nor place them nearby within possible reach of the child. Instead, kindly contact Teenee Tot by e-mail at info@teeneetot.com to receive a full refund.
