US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Kitten Grind Raw Pet Food Recall [US]Blue Ridge Beef, an Eatonton, Georgia establishment, recalls an estimated twenty (20) cases of Kitten Grind Raw Pet Food due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella contamination and consequential risk of bacterial infection, illness and pet death, all serious health hazards. The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Pet Food products are subject to this recall:

  • Kitten Grind Raw Pet Food, sold with a batch/lot of GA1102 and a manufacturing date code of 11/02/2017

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Pet Food can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after the FDA received a complaint of two (2) kitten deaths, including one (1) death later confirmed to be caused by Salmonella septicemia. Subsequent testing by the FDA of Kitten Grind Pet Food revealed the presence of Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Pet Foods, please do not feed them to your pet(s). Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. Wash down all prep surfaces, serving implements and serving bowls with a bleach/water mixture; rinse well with lots of hot soapy water.
