Canada/Ottawa: Gusto & Olli branded Salami Meat Recall [Canada]Dovre Import & Export Ltd., a Richmond, British Columbia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Gusto brand and Olli brand Ready-To-Eat Salami Meat Products due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of bacterial infection and illness, all serious health hazards. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Salami and other Meat products are subject to this recall (in alphabetical order):

  • Gusto branded Chorizo Smoked Paprika, sold in 170 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012812
  • Gusto branded Napoli Applewood-Smoked Salame, sold in 170 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012821
  • Gusto branded Pepperoni Classically American, sold in 170 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012805
  • Gusto branded Sopressata Black Peppercorn Salame, sold in 170 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012811
  • Gusto branded Toscano Fennel Pollen Salame, sold in 170 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012805
  • Olli branded Calabrese Spicy Salami, sold in 175 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012807
  • Olli branded Molisana Pepper + Garlic Salami, sold in 175 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012808
  • Olli branded Napoli Applewood-Smoked Salami, sold in 175 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012810

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Dovre Import & Export has recalled certain batch/lots of Gusto brand and Olli brand Ready-To-Eat Meat Products due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the Salami Meat products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Salami Meat products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

These Salami products have also been recalled in the United States where, according to the USDA, they may bear establishment number “M-45334” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations US nationwide and imported into Canada.
