==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated due to improper labeling after a consumer notified Kodiak Cakes that a family member had a reaction to the product and that the known allergen “Milk” had not included in the product’s allergen statement. While the specific ingredient “Whey” is printed in the ingredient declaration, the specific presence of Milk is not identified in the ingredient list nor declared in the required allergen “Contains” statement. To date, this complaint is the only known report of injury or illness for this product due to the undeclared Milk constituent.

==> For information about Milk Allergy or Lactose Intolerance, please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab at the top of this page.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Energy Waffles and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
